A group of bodies slowly fall down the hill in a state of trance, caught between pain and pleasure. They assume the role of tourists and are equipped with water, maps, and cameras. They take the front stage to evoke questions on belonging and ownership, the slow violence of documentation, and the neocolonial implications of the tourism economy. The work responds to the local apparatus that commodifies collective trauma, revealing a state of virtuality, a non-space between history and fiction.

“ouch, wow” is a physical composition of control and collapse, optimism and failure. Two male bodies navigate through the exhibition The Broken Pitcher at Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst, responding to the works in a state of trance. By standing and falling, stumbling and rolling, the performers problematize the role of the viewer in relation to the apparatus for trauma commodification, serving as reminders of the impossibility of fully comprehending what is experienced.
